<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">LEONARDTOWN, MD. – An ex-con caught with guns is facing more jail time.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Capt. Daniel Alioto reports that St. Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Vice/Narcotics detectives began conversing with Wayne Jerome Biscoe, 47, of Valley Lee, Md., regarding the sale of several firearms. The negotiations between the two were a specific sum of money for an AK 47 semi-automatic rifle (which is a regulated firearm) and two handguns. When a price was agreed upon, the undercover detective met suspect Biscoe, and the transaction was completed. Suspect Biscoe was stopped and arrested without incident by Vice/Narcotics Support Team and Patrol deputies. Suspect Biscoe is a convicted felon and is prohibited from possessing any firearm.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Detectives executed a search and seizure warrant on suspect Biscoe’s residence and additional firearms, hundreds of rounds of ammunition and a quantity of marijuana </span>were<span style="font-size: 12pt;"> recovered. Suspect Biscoe was charged with several firearms violations to include “Unlawful Sale/Transfer of a Regulated Firearm” and “Transporting a Handgun in a Vehicle.” Additional charges are pending a review with State’s Attorney Richard D. Fritz.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Three counts of assault and reckless endangerment were filed against Biscoe on Sept. 5, </span>2005<span style="font-size: 12pt;">, by St. Mary’s Sheriff’s Sgt. Harold Young and all charges were dropped by St. Mary’s States Attorney Richard Fritz on Dec. 30, 2005.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Fritz procured an indictment from the St. Mary’s County Circuit Court Grand Jury against Biscoe on Oct. 29, 2001. In a plea deal on Feb. 3, 2002, Biscoe entered a guilty plea in return for a sentence of 18 months in jail with one year suspended and work release authorized. Trooper John Vanhoy was the arresting officer.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Biscoe was previously convicted of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon on Feb. 4, </span>2004<span style="font-size: 12pt;">, and in a plea deal with Fritz was given thirty days in jail. All thirty days was suspended.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Four counts of theft against Biscoe filed by Maryland State Police Detective John Vanhoy on March 12, </span>2001<span style="font-size: 12pt;">, were dropped by Fritz on Aug. 30, 2001.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Four counts of drug distribution against Biscoe in 1996 by Maryland State Trooper Norma </span>Traas<span style="font-size: 12pt;"> were dropped by St. Mary’s States Attorney Walter B. Dorsey.</span></p>
