<h2>Murder USA: Pierre Rafael Edwards shot dead in Glenarden in broad daylight</h2>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><a href="https://www.the-chesapeake.com//wp-content/uploads/2014/03/MURDER-USA.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-3285" src="https://www.the-chesapeake.com//wp-content/uploads/2014/03/MURDER-USA-253x300.jpg" alt="MURDER USA" width="253" height="300" /></a>GLENARDEN, MD. &#8212; They won’t be crying for him in Argentina or likely anywhere as the gunslingers of PG County have put another notch on their belt. The Prince George’s County Police Department report the murder of an ex-con in Glenarden. The victim is 22-year-old Pierre Rafael Edwards of 2350 Washington Place in Northeast Washington. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information that leads to an arrest and indictment in this case.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Edwards had been charged with first degree murder in Prince Georges County for a slaying that took place on July 2, 2013. Associated handgun charges along with the murder rap were dropped by Prince Georges County States Attorney Angela Alsobrooks on Dec. 4, 2014.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Prince Georges Police report that Edwards joined the ranks of the recently dead on May 30, 2015, at about 5:00 pm. Police patrol officers with the Glenarden and Prince George&#8217;s County Police Departments were called to the 2800 block of Hornbeam Court for the report of a shooting. When they arrived, they found Edwards outside suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Detectives do not believe this was a random act. Investigators are working to identify the suspect(s) and motive in this case.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Given Edward’s rap sheet, police likely have a long list of suspects.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Edwards clearly was a cheapskate as well as a thug as he was charged with failing to pay Metro fare on May 14, 2015.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">The thug life kept Edwards busy running around to welfare lawyers of the Maryland Public Defenders Office in at least three counties. On March 24, 2015, Edwards was charged with assault in Prince Georges County for an incident that took place on June 24, 2014. He had a court case pending for June 23, 2015 which will now be marked DOA.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">While the taxpayers won’t miss Edwards, the Maryland Public Defenders will. The Public Defenders Office repeatedly fail to qualify clients for payment or bother to collect administrative fees from them, leaving the state system millions of dollars in the hole, according to the auditors of the State of Maryland. As a result, taxpayers pay for the legal defense of many drug dealers across Maryland. The drug dealers then hire private attorneys if they sense they are going to get serious jail time, as many of the public defenders enjoy a less than stellar reputation for competence among the criminal class.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">On Dec. 22, 2014, Edwards entered into a guilty plea in Anne Arundel County Circuit Court for second degree assault and was sentenced to three years in prison with all of the sentence suspended and credit for 535 days of time served given. On that day, Edwards was released in time to celebrate Christmas in Thugville.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Included among the buffet line of crime for Edwards was a charge on Nov. 15, 2011 of attempting to intimidate or influence a juror in a criminal trial. The Prince Georges County States Attorney dropped the charge on March 30, 2012.</span></p>
