News with an ImpactONE KILLED IN SINGLE VEHICLE CRASH

Dinwiddie County- A man died Sunday evening (May 10) after the car he was driving ran off the road and struck a tree, according to Sgt. Stephan Vick.  The crash occurred at approximately 5:36 p.m. on Vaughan Road, ½ mile south of Plantation Drive in Dinwiddie County.

Virginia State Police Senior Trooper C. E. Christopher is investigating the crash.

The troopers investigation revealed that a 2002 Toyota was traveling south on Vaughan Road when it ran off the road to the right, overcorrected left, then back right , running off the road hitting a tree and overturning twice ejecting the driver.

The driver of the 2002 Toyota died at the scene; he was not wearing a seatbelt.  The name of the driver is being withheld until next of kin can be notified.

Speed is being considered a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
