HERNDON, VA. — Fairfax County Police report that the body of a man found dumped in a creek was, according to the Office of the Medical Examiner is a homicide. The deceased has been identified as William Adolfo Rivas Leiva, 22, of the Herndon area. The investigation remains ongoing. Further updates will be provided as new information becomes available.
Police are investigating a suspicious death in the Herndon area. On Monday, March 16, around 12:27 p.m. officers were called to a wooded area at Folly Lick Stream, located in the 1500 block of Hiddenbrook Drive, for the report of a body found in a creek in a wooded area. Officers located a deceased male.
This investigation is in its early stages. Detectives believe the deceased to be an adult male with trauma to the upper body. The Office of the Medical Examiner will determine cause and manner of death. Positive identification has not yet been made.
