Gerald Campbell hit by gunfire; flown to trauma unit
(Walkersville, MD) – Maryland State Police are investigating a shooting that occurred in the evening of Jan. 22, 2014 behind a retail store in Walkersville, Md., in Frederick County.
The victim is identified as Gerald Campbell, 42, of Frederick. He was transported by medevac to the R Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center where he is being treated for his injuries.
The suspect has been identified as a tall, thin, African American man with facial hair. He was reportedly wearing a mask at the time of the incident.
Sgt. Marc Black of the Maryland State Police reported that that at 9:30 p.m., a 9-1-1 call was received from a witness in the area who reported the shooting.
