<p>(Charles County, MD) Maryland State Police captured a fleeing and fugitive <strong>flim-flam man</strong>, who is wanted, or perhaps unwanted, in more than a dozen states after he ran down a bail bondsman who was hot on the trail of the dirtbag.</p>
<p><strong>Bart Kurtrick Mullins</strong>, (who has the word <strong>“trick”</strong> in his middle name) also has an address at 1435 Swan Street in Greensboro, North Carolina, as well as one on Housely Place in White Plains, Md. – and perhaps many more addresses, most of them fictitious – was arrested in June of 2014 for running down a West Monroe Louisiana Police officer at the scene of yet another alleged scam at a pawn shop.</p>
<p>In that incident, Mullins was charged with attempted first-degree murder. Why he was on the lam in Maryland will likely be another story, perhaps he paid his bail with Russian rubles or Confederate dollars. That could explain why he decided to run over the bail bondsman.</p>
<p>Police say that at about 9:30 a.m., on December 30, 2014, troopers from the Maryland State Police La Plata Barrack responded to the 10300-block of Housely Place, White Plains, MD, for the report of a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian. Investigation revealed the suspect, identified as <strong>Bart K. Mullins</strong>, 36, of the 10300-block of Housely Place, White Plains, used his vehicle to attempt to flee the scene to escape apprehension by bail bonding agents. Mullins was wanted on open warrants from North Carolina and Louisiana for aggravated assault on a police officer and violation of probation.</p>
<p>While fleeing, Mullins struck and injured a member of the bail bonding agency. That person was transported to the <strong>Prince George’s Hospital Shock Trauma Center</strong>, with what are believed to be non-life threatening injuries. Mullins failed to negotiate a curve at Billingsley Road and Middletown Road and struck a curb, disabling his vehicle. He was held by members of the bail bonding agency until troopers arrived minutes later.</p>
<p>Investigators from the Maryland State Police Criminal Enforcement Division Central South Region responded to the scene and assumed the investigation. Information was developed linking Mullins to a series of financial fraud and identity theft crimes. A search and seizure warrant was obtained and served at his residence last night.</p>
<p>Investigators recovered over $100,000 in fraudulent checks and 14 fraudulent driver’s licenses from 11 different states throughout the southeast and northeast regions of the United States.</p>
<p>Mullins was charged with first degree assault, second degree assault, reckless endangerment, and DUI.</p>
<p>Additional charges are expected to be filed after consultation with the Charles County State’s Attorney’s Office. A detainer was also filed on Mullins for a violation of probation warrant from North Carolina and a warrant from Louisiana for aggravated assault on a police officer. Mullins was held at the Charles County Detention Center.</p>
<p>The Maryland State Police Criminal Enforcement Division, Central South Region is comprised of investigators from the Maryland State Police Criminal Enforcement Division and Homeland Security Investigations (HSI). The investigators are tasked with working investigations within Maryland’s jurisdictions and crimes that cross state lines.</p>

<h1>Struck Police Officer in Flight from Pawn Shop</h1>

<p>UPDATE June 11th, 2014: According to The Ouachita Sheriff&#8217;s Office, charges for Bart Mullins of Greensboro, N.C. have been upgraded to Attempted 1st Degree Murder of an Officer.</p>

<p>WEST MONROE – According to<strong> West Monroe Police</strong> an unidentified man has been arrested after leading police on a high speed chase early Saturday afternoon.</p>
<p>Major David May of the West Monroe Police Department tells KTVE that they received a call about a disturbance at the Advance Cash America Pawn shop in West Monroe. When police arrived, the man fled on foot.</p>
<p>After getting into his car, the man struck at least one officer and led police down Highway 34.</p>
<p>The officer suffered minor injuries.</p>
<p>The chase ended when the man stuck another car on Constitution Drive, in front of the Ronin Japanese Steak &; Sushi restaurant.</p>
<p>The other driver received only minor injuries.</p>
<p>Police say they have not identified the man because there were multiple I.D.’s in his car along with more than $12,000 in cash.</p>
<p>He’s being charged with Attempted 2nd Degree Murder of an Officer, Aggravated Flight, Resisting and two counts of Monetary Instrument Abuse.</p>
<p>When Mullins was ticketed on I-95 in Harford County Maryland for speeding in 1998, he never appeared for trial, according to Maryland court records. At that time his address was listed at 126 Meadowview Road in Greensboro, N.C.</p>
