Three Charged in Rockville Murder
Detectives from the Montgomery County Police Major Crimes Division have arrested two women and one man for the homicide of Jonathan Edward Terril Harris, age 26, of the 2300 block of Eagle Rock Place.
Latoya Renell Morgan, age 33, of the 1200 block of Boones Hill Road in Capitol Heights and Samantha Carol Parker, age 26, of the 4700 block of Coachway Drive in Rockville were arrested on December 23 and charged with first degree murder and robbery. Dion Ramon Sobotker, age 32, of the 4200 block of 28th Avenue in Temple Hills was arrested on December 24 and also charged with first degree murder and robbery. All three are being held without bond.
On December 6 at 10:47 a.m., the Emergency Communications Center received a call from Harris’ mother for a burglary that had just been discovered in the 2300 block of Eagle Rock Place. Fourth District officers responded and found Jonathan Harris deceased inside the home. He had obvious trauma to the top portion of his body.
Mr. Harris’ body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore where an autopsy was performed. The manner of his death was ruled a homicide as a result of asphyxia.
Investigation revealed the following information:
- The victim’s credit card was being used just after investigators believe the homicide occurred.
- Surveillance video and images were obtained by investigators showing the suspects using Harris’ credit card.
- Morgan and Parker made statements placing themselves at the scene of the crime.
- Parker, a former girlfriend who resided with Harris at the residence for a time, made threats to physically harm him with the assistance of other subjects.
