Woman found dead next to her car

STOCKTON, MD. — Worcester County Sheriff reports that on Dec. 10, 2014 at about 10:30 am the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to Rt. 366, Stockton, Maryland after a driver for Waste Management, saw a small silver Honda civic on the side of Route 366 between Bird Hill Rd and Little Mill Rd., Stockton, Maryland. Upon closer inspection the driver observed someone lying in the ditch. The Worcester County Sheriff’s Office was contacted to investigate.

Deputies arrived on scene and located a 78-year-old white female deceased lying in the ditch.

The initial investigation has revealed the deceased was seen at approximately 1555 hrs. on 12/9/2014 by a passerby who saw an elderly white female in a small silver vehicle being pushed off to the side of the road by a UPS driver and another person. The subject advised that when they drove back through the same area approximately 1645 hrs. the vehicle was on the side of the road with the parking lights on and she did not see the female subject.

The deceased has been identified as Hazel Virginia O’Neill, 78 years of age of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The vehicle was registered to Ms. O’Neill

Ms. O’Neill was transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office. The investigation is ongoing.

Assault with a knife charged after suspect decided to up the ante from trespassing

(December 11, 2014) – Ocean City Police report that they made room at the inn for another prisoner on December 10, 2014, at approximately 4:13 a.m. Ocean City officers responded to the area of 1st Street and Philadelphia Avenue for a report of trespassing. The suspect, later identified as Bryan K. Taylor, 48, of Ocean City, was given a trespass warning for the residence earlier in the morning in the presence of an officer and had returned to the property.

Upon arrival, officers could hear Taylor making threatening statements to another male behind a locked door and was holding a fixed blade knife. After multiple commands from an officer with his gun drawn, Taylor put down the knife and was arrested. Through investigation, officers determined that Taylor was threatening the individual behind the locked door after a minor altercation a few hours prior.

Police have charged Taylor with first and second degree assault, possessing a dangerous weapon with intent to injure, trespassing and disorderly conduct. Taylor was seen by a Maryland District Court Commissioner and is currently being held at the Ocean City Public Safety Building on $50,000 bond.
