<p><strong>PGPD Investigates Fatal Pedestrian Collision in Hyattsville</strong></p>
<p><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">Hyattsville, Md. (Sept 9, 2014) &#8212; The Prince George&#8217;s County Police Department&#8217;s Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is investigating a fatal pedestrian collision. The victim is 30-year-old <strong>Fredy Gonzalez Hernandez</strong> of Allison Street in Hyattsville.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">On August 9, 2014, at about <span data-term="goog_1319766238">6:10 pm</span>, patrol officers were called to the 1800 block of University Boulevard for the report of a pedestrian collision. When they arrived, they found Hernandez in the roadway with critical injuries. He was taken to the hospital were he <strong>succumbed</strong> to his injuries on <em><strong>September 5, 2014.</strong></em></span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;">The preliminary investigation reveals Hernandez was struck as he crossed University Boulevard. Hernandez was not in a crosswalk at the time. <em><strong>The driver remained on the scene.</strong></em></span></p>

<p style="margin: 0px 0px 1em; color: #444444; line-height: 1.4em; font-family: 'Helvetica Neue',Helvetica,Arial,sans-serif; font-size: 14px; direction: ltr;">FAIRFAX, VA. &#8212; (Sept. 9, 2014) &#8211; Fair Oaks Police District – Police responded to the area of West Ox Road and Polo Drive shortly after 9 p.m. on Monday, September 8 for the report that a pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle. Officers located the scene and began their investigation; Crash Reconstruction detectives were summoned.</p>

At that time, a 2011 Chevrolet Malibu, being driven by a 50-year-old Alexandria man was traveling northbound on West Ox Road just north of Polo Drive. The Malibu struck the pedestrian as he walked into the roadway. <em>The driver of the Malibu remained on the scene.</em></p>

It has not yet been determined if alcohol was a factor for the pedestrian</p>
