Big for his age, boy, 6, subdued with mace after stabbing grandma

Hancock, Md. — 08/04/2014— According to Washington County Md. Sheriff’s deputies an oversize child went berserk and stabbed his grandma.
Deputies say that on 8-4-2014 at 8:35 AM Sheriff Deputies were dispatched to 13704 Orchard Ridge Road in Hancock MD in reference to an out of control 6-year-old child that had stabbed his grandmother and was attempting to stab her again as well as his mother.
All persons involved were inside of the home.
Upon arrival at the home Deputies made entry and were confronted by the 6 year old child who appeared larger than normal for a 6 year old and weighed approximately 100 pounds. The male child immediately charged at deputies and had a large butcher type knife in each hand. As the male charged at the Deputies and was waving both knives in a slashing motion and attempting to stab the Deputies.

One shot of pepper spray was sprayed at the child which caused him to drop the knives and fall to the ground. The child was then taken into custody without further incident and transported to the Mertitus Medical Center for a mental evaluation. No criminal charges are being filed at this time due to the age of the child. The child was not harmed as a result of the pepper spray. No Deputies were injured.

The child’s grandmother did suffer a laceration on her hand but refused medical treatment.
