September 6, 2013 was the first day of Archery Season for Deer. You are allowed “Unlimited” Doe just like last year and there is some Sunday hunting allowed on private property “Only”. Check DNR on-line for dates or your local hunting shop.
I have not gotten my hunting license yet, but I checked the prices on-line and they appear to be the same as last year. Remember Governor O’Malley tried to get Bill 1419 passed last year that would have increased Fees by 270% in 2013. What was O’Malley thinking? Guess he thought he could get House Bill 1419 through without you noticing. Well I noticed and like many hunters sent our grievances to our elected Representatives in Annapolis. The Bill was killed, but we need to keep an eye on our Government or we all will suffer.
Remember that Cross Bow can be used during Archery Season, and that is my weapon of choice. They are deadly and will bag your deer. Remember to get a new string for your bow for you don’t want a broken string when you are about to bag your deer. You may want to hint to Deer Season began September 6, 2013 and Governor O’Malley Starts to Ban Firearms in October 2013.

Just tell her a Cross Bow will allow you to bag more deer and help feed the family during these hard times. Less deer doing crop damage or you hitting one with your truck is a good thing. Plus fresh venison on the table is a treat; even my 8 year old son can contest to that.
MD DNR is having a Doe Harvest Challenge this year.
You take your donated Doe to any FHFH Processor Deer Donation location to help feed the hungry.
There are 10 Prizes per Zone (Saint Mary’s is Zone 2) and 1 Grand Prize for each of the 3 Zones. This started September 7 and goes through January 31, 2014. There is no cost to donate and you have “Unlimited” number in donating Buck or Doe. FHFH locations in Saint Mary’s are below:
Nice Rack Butcher Shop: 240-587-0246
Ridgell’s Whitetail Butcher: 301-904-0406
Wildgame Processing: 301-475-9667
Also, you have until October to get that firearm that Governor O’Malley wants banned. It is hoped that the NRA will take this new gun law to court and have it revoked for it is Unconstitutional. We may have to move to another state if it is not revoked to stay Free.
