<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">DENTON, MD – Is it still attempted murder when a stabbing takes place during a not-so-friendly spat between sisters? Yep. There is no free pass just because those who are related by blood decide to use a knife to shed some blood during a late night fight.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Maryland State police report that troopers arrested a Delaware woman on July 20, 2017, in connection with a stabbing in Dorchester County.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">The victim is identified as Shanyda Milton, 25, of Hurlock, Maryland. Milton was transported via ambulance by emergency medical personnel to the University of Maryland Shore Medical Center at Dorchester, where she is being treated for her injuries.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">The accused is identified as Shameka Matthews, 26, of 829 Fieldcrest Road, Cambridge, Md., who police also has a residence in Delaware. She was charged on July 20, 2017, with first-degree assault, second-degree assault, disorderly conduct, reckless endangerment and malicious destruction of property. She is being held without bond at the Dorchester County Detention Center.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Shortly after 5:00 a.m. July 20, 2017, troopers from the Maryland State Police Easton Barrack responded to a home in the 4700 block of Jones Village Road in Hurlock on a report of a domestic situation. Responding troopers found the victim outside the home with multiple stab wounds to her upper body. Police believe the two women involved in the dispute are sisters.</span></p>
