<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">WASHINGTON, D.C. &#8212; Two men who deliberately drove their vehicle into several police officers in Washington, D.C. on Friday, June 9, 2017, were arrested at the scene, according to District Police.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Detectives of the Metropolitan Police Department announced that two arrests have been made in connection with an Assault with Intent to Kill (Car) Offense that occurred on June 8, 2017, at approximately 8:58 pm in the 2400 block of 18th Street Northwest.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Police say that the suspect’s vehicle was observed driving at a high rate of speed, striking two MPD officers assigned to bicycle patrol. The suspect continued driving, striking a DDOT Traffic Control Officer. The suspect’s vehicle came to rest after striking an unoccupied vehicle.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">The two injured officers were transported to an area hospital in critical condition. The DDOT employee was also transported to an area hospital, treated and released.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Arrested at the scene were 22-year old Brandon Lord Figures-Mormon of Disputanta, VA, who is charged with Assault With Intent to Kill and Possession of Unregistered Firearm, and 23-year old Dwayne Nicholas Taylor of Prince George, VA, who is charged with Possession of Unregistered Firearm.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Bars and businesses in the Adams Morgan neighborhood are joining together to try to offer any help possible to the two officers and DDOT worker who were mowed down by a truck driver. News4&#8217;s Jackie Bensen reports how one popular bar helped during the aftermath of the crash.</span></p>
<p class="paragraph" data-pnum="5"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Taylor initially was charged with possession of an unregistered firearm. The D.C. Office of the Attorney General decided after reviewing evidence not to charge him, a representative for the office said Friday afternoon. </span></p>
<p class="paragraph" data-pnum="6"><span style="font-size: 12pt;">The officers were riding their bikes near 18th Street and Columbia Road </span>NW,<span style="font-size: 12pt;"> when the white pickup truck crashed into them.</span></p>
