GREENSBORO, MD. — The Snow Bandits led St. Mary’s Sheriff’s Deputies to their home last year during a snowstorm. The cops tracked them in the snow after the bozos committed an armed robbery and their footprints led to their mother’s doorstep. The newest nominees for a Darwin Award are two alleged Dirtbags who were captured by a Caroline County Drug Task Force investigator who followed the getaway car after a home invasion and robbery in Greensboro. The Maryland State Police say that the alleged dirtbag armed robbers pulled into their hideout with the officer smoking down their tailpipe – right into their driveway.

Maryland State Police reported the arrest of two suspects in the armed robbery on Friday the Thirteenth in Caroline County.

They were identified as James Moore, 30, and Frederick Franklin Kirsch III, 35, of 1110 Lupine Lane, Denton, Md. Kirsch was arrested on a warrant by Denton Police Officer Starkey. Both are in police custody after being arrested on outstanding warrants. Moore has an outstanding arrest warrant through Dorchester County Circuit Court. Kirsch was wanted in Caroline County for Theft under $10,000 on an open warrant from 2014. A body attachment for child support was ordered by Queen Anne’s County Judge Ross on Aug. 4, 2015, in seeking more than $26,257 in arrears by Kirsch.

Court records show that Kirsch waived an attorney for his preliminary hearing. No bail required and he is free as a lark.

Shortly before 10:30 p.m. on Jan. 13, 2017, troopers from the Maryland State Police Easton Barrack and deputies from the Caroline County Sheriff’s Office responded to the 12,000 block of Knife Box Road in Greensboro, Maryland. The owner of the residence called 9-1-1, with a report of an armed robbery.

During this time, police were told that one of the men pulled out a black semi-automatic pistol and asked for the homeowner’s money. The homeowner told the men he was having a heart attack and sat down in his living room chair. Fearing for his life, he then tried to defend himself and pulled out his own pistol which was subsequently taken by the suspects.

The homeowner answered the door. Two Caucasian men, standing on his doorstep, used a ruse to gain access to the house.

While the men were inside the residence, the homeowner was able to dial 9-1-1 from his cell phone and left the line open during the incident. Emergency dispatchers on the other end of the cell phone call dispatched law enforcement officers from multiple agencies while the crime was taking place.

Once law enforcement arrived, the homeowner told police the two men had fled the residence and ran south on Knife Box Road. He informed police the men stole a pistol, a large amount of U.S. currency, and other personal belongings.

An investigator with the Caroline County Narcotics Task Force responded to the scene to assist the various law enforcement units. As he turned onto Knife Box Road from Burrsville Road, he observed a black 2012 Ford Focus with temporary Delaware tags, traveling south on Knife Box Road at a high rate of speed. The two raging rednecks fit the description of the suspects involved in the armed robbery.

The investigator began following the Ford Focus which continued to speed onto several back roads until pulling into a driveway at the 28,000 block of Bloomery Road in Federalsburg, Maryland where they exited the vehicle. Backup units arrived at the location, and the two men exited the residence and were subsequently detained, and arrested without incident by police. No injuries were sustained by the homeowner or by law enforcement during the incident.

Maryland State Police from the Easton Barrack was provided assistance by the Caroline County Sheriff’s Office and the Caroline County Narcotics Task Force. The Maryland State Police crime scene analysts also responded to process the scene.
