<h3><strong>Beattie, of 105B Oak Ave., Sparrows Point, Md., was charged with manslaughter by a warrant issued on June 6, 2016, by the District Court of Worcester County, Md. The warrant was sworn out by Ocean City Detective James Rodriguez. Beattie made bail on June 8, 2016, and was freed from jail pending trial. Other than a citation issued for possession of alcohol while underage, Beattie has no other adult criminal arrests on his court record. </strong></h3>

<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;"><strong>OCEAN CITY, MD – (June 7, 2016)</strong>: Ocean City Police reports that after an extensive review of surveillance footage, forensic evidence, multiple witness statements and citizen tips, detectives of the Ocean City Police Department Criminal Investigation Division Major Crimes Unit have charged Darren M. Beattie, 21, of Sparrows Point, MD, in the homicide that occurred at 136<sup>th</sup> Street and Coastal Highway on May 29, 2016.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">On May 29, 2016, at approximately 2:30 a.m. Ocean City Police and EMS responded to the area of 136th Street &; Coastal Highway in reference to an assault. Ocean City EMS transported the victim, Ryan M. Shupert, 31, of Lutherville Timonium, MD, to Peninsula Regional Medical Center where he was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit with life-threatening injuries. Shupert succumbed to his injuries and passed away on May 31. Shupert’s body was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner for the State of Maryland who ruled the death to be a homicide.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">With assistance from numerous leads provided by the public, resort detectives were able to tentatively identify the suspect as Beattie. Equipped with this information, detectives traveled to the Dundalk and Sparrow Point neighborhoods of Baltimore County, MD on Saturday, June 4. With support from the Baltimore County Police Department Homicide and Intelligence Units, Ocean City detectives were able to quickly locate and interview Beattie along with other witnesses and involved parties.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Police say that on Tuesday, June 7, detectives applied for and received an arrest warrant for Beattie charging him with manslaughter and 2nd-degree assault. Beattie turned himself into police at the Ocean City Public Safety Building later that day. He is currently being held at the Ocean City Public Safety Building awaiting an initial appearance before a Maryland District Court Commissioner.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">While he would not make any substantive comments about a pending case, The State’s Attorney for Worcester County Beau H. Oglesby, commented, “This type of senseless, preventable and tragic situation should serve as a reminder to everyone who finds public fights anywhere in Worcester County acceptable – they’re not. <p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Ocean City Police are continuing to investigate an assault that occurred earlier this week which has now been classified a homicide and are seeking four men for the murder. The victim had a history of first-degree assault and pleaded guilty to the charge in 2006. </span></p>

<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Detectives with the Ocean City Police Department Criminal Investigation Division Major Crimes believe that the victim and two friends were involved in a verbal argument with four male suspects on a municipal bus before the physical altercation at 136th Street and Coastal Highway. Detectives are currently looking for four suspects and asking anyone with information to come forward. Each of the four suspects is believed to be from the Baltimore, MD area.</span></p>

Blake was let off in a plea deal on March 12, 2015, agreed to by the Wicomico County States Attorney Beau Olgesby with a $500 fine and a year in jail for fighting with all other charges dropped. Ochse got the same deal but with 18 months in the local jail.</figcaption></figure>

<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Suspect 1: A white male with a darker complexion in his 20’s. He is approximately 6’ to 6’1” weighing approximately 200 pounds with dark, curly hair parted to the side and gel in his hair. He was wearing glasses before the altercation occurred and a red shirt.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Suspect 2: A white male with a lighter complexion in his 20’s. He has short reddish-brown hair with extensive tattoos on both his arms and neck. He was wearing a white t-shirt at the time of the incident.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Suspects 3 &; 4: White males in their 20’s.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">“We are confident that someone has valuable information about this incident and knows the suspects that were involved,” commented Chief Ross Buzzuro. “We urge anyone that may have information to contact us, particularly those that may have been on a municipal bus between the hours of 1:30 a.m. and 2:30 a.m. in the areas of 70th to 130th Streets on Sunday, May 29.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Detectives are actively reviewing surveillance video, witness statements, and forensic evidence, and each lead is being investigated extensively. <p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Ryan Shupert worked at T. Rowe Price as an investment associate and was educated at Towson University, graduating with a BUAD in Finance in 2008. In 2015, Shupert quit T. Rowe Price and became associated with BNY Mellon as a supervisor. <a href="http://www.evansfuneralchapel.com/home/index.cfm?action=public%3Aobituaries.view&;lud=74E67853E6E2576534DE38E8F123259D&;id=3736875&;fh_id=10838"><strong>Obituary </strong></a></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Shupert was charged by Baltimore City Police Officer Arthur Nixon, and the case was moved to Baltimore City Circuit Court for first-degree assault, second-degree assault and reckless endangerment for an incident which took place on Christmas Day of 2005. Charges were filed on March 3, 2006. In a plea deal on June 29, 2006, with the Baltimore City States Attorney, Shupert entered a guilty plea in return for Probation without Judgment, was sentenced to six years in prison with five years and eleven months and twenty-nine days suspended. He was ordered to be on probation for three years with all of that time to be supervised. Shupert’s parents had posted their property on Fox Chase Court in Parkton, Md., as bond when he was out on bail.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Charges of assault, racial, etc. harassment with animosity were dropped as part of the plea deal arranged with prosecutors by his attorney Richard Karceski, of Baltimore, Md.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;"> Karceski gained notice in the media when he represented the notorious rapper Ski Money, who’s legal name, is Lawrence S. Christian. Ski Money injected himself into the 2014 Maryland Attorney General race by sidling up to a candidate in the Democratic Primary, Del. Jon Cardin, and with a hug and campaign donation of $100. At the time, Cardin’s new-found friend was facing charges of human trafficking, which Karceski, doing what a Maryland Super Lawyer should do, questioned the</span> <span style="font-size: 12pt;">veracity of the witness and the strength of the charges against his client. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Good old Ski Money soon found he had lost his new best friend when Cardin learned that his supporter was a pimp, an ex-con who started in the music business after leaving prison and then dumped Ski Money like a cheap suit. ‘Ski Money’ Christian entered an Alford Plea of Guilty to a charge of being in the prostitution business and twenty-two human trafficking charges were dropped. Cardin issued a statement saying he has “fought” human trafficking all through his political career but failed to show any proof of black eyes or other evidence of a struggle. Cardin did not become Attorney General, losing the election to Sen. Brian Frosh, who apparently didn’t have any close associations with rap stars who also pimp whores on the side.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Christian got 18 months in prison as part of the deal with “work release recommended” posted on court records, meaning he could still pimp hookers during working hours and return to jail at night.</span></p>
