<p><a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;the-chesapeake&period;com&sol;&sol;wp-content&sol;uploads&sol;2015&sol;01&sol;Walter-Dickie-Barnes&period;jpg"><img class&equals;"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-7146" src&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;the-chesapeake&period;com&sol;&sol;wp-content&sol;uploads&sol;2015&sol;01&sol;Walter-Dickie-Barnes-150x150&period;jpg" alt&equals;"Walter Dickie Barnes" width&equals;"150" height&equals;"150" &sol;><&sol;a>Walter &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;Dickie” Barnes&comma; Jr&period;&comma; 67 of Ridge&comma; passed away surrounded by loved ones on December 18&comma; 2014&period;  He was a proud and active resident of St&period; Mary’s County&period;  He was a member of the American Legion&comma; Lions Club&comma; Optimist Club and VFW&period;  His hobbies included hunting&comma; playing cards&comma; spending time with family and helping others in any way he could&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>He is proceed in death by his grandparents&semi; Spenser and Edith Barnes&comma; his parents&semi; Walter and Ann &lpar;Szymczyk&rpar; Barnes&comma; father-in-law&semi; John S&period; Foote and sister&semi; Nancy Long&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>He is survived by his loving wife of 42 years&comma; Martha Barnes of Ridge&comma; MD&comma; daughter&semi; Sandra &lpar;Joe&rpar; Birch of Lexington Park&comma; MD and son&semi; Raymond &lpar;Nathan&rpar; Barnes of Washington&comma; DC&period;  He is also survived by 2 grandchildren&semi; Jarred and Peyton and 2 step-grandchildren&semi; Joseph and Anthony&period;  He also had a niece that was like a second daughter to him&semi; Shelly &lpar;Ronnie&rpar; Raley and her sons Dustin and Casey that he thought of like his grandsons&period; Mother-in-law&semi; Doris Foote of Austin&comma; TX&period; Brothers and sisters&semi; Louis &lpar;Joann&rpar; Barnes of Rock Hill&comma; SC&comma; Timothy &lpar;Ginger&rpar; Barnes of Mechanicsville&comma; MD&comma; David &lpar;Karen&rpar; Barnes of Lusby&comma; MD&comma; Ellen &lpar;Dave&rpar; Holcomb of Leonardtown&comma; MD&comma; Edna Boothe of Mechanicsville&comma; MD&comma; Susan Barnes of Upper Marlboro&comma; MD and Ruth &lpar;Jack&rpar; Wallon of New Richmond&comma; OH&period; He is survived by a lot of nieces&comma; nephews&comma; cousins and lots of friends that he called family&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Dickie didn’t want a memorial service so a celebration of life will happen in the spring as he wanted&period;  Details as to when and where will be announced as it is arranged&period;  In lieu of flowers&comma; memorial contributions may be made to the Ridge Volunteer Rescue Squad&comma; 16515 Three Notch Road&comma; Ridge&comma; MD 20680 or the Ridge Volunteer Fire Department&comma; 13820 Point Lookout Road&comma; Ridge&comma; MD 20680&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
