<p><span style="font-family: times new roman,times; font-size: 12pt;">COTTAGE CITY, MD. The Prince George&#8217;s County Police Department&#8217;s Homicide Unit is investigating a murder in Cottage City. The victim is 20-year-old Everett Robert Brown of Cottage Terrace in Brentwood. An up to $25,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case. </span></p>

<div class="p1"><span style="font-family: times new roman,times; font-size: 12pt;">Police say that on August 30, 2014, at about 6:45 am, Maryland-National Capital Park Police officers were called to the Anacostia River Trail for the report of an unconscious man. When they arrived, they found Brown suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead on the scene.</span></div>

<div class="p1"><span style="font-family: times new roman,times; font-size: 12pt;">Detectives are working to determine a motive and identify the suspect(s) in this case. They will canvass neighborhoods near the trail this afternoon at 1:00 pm seeking additional information. The canvass will begin in the 4100 block of Cottage Terrace. </span></div>

<div class="p1"><span style="font-family: times new roman,times; font-size: 12pt;"><span style="color: #000000;">Brown entered a guilty plea to burglary on May 3, 2013 in Prince Georges County Circuit Court before Judge McKee. The plea of guilty replaced a plea of not guilty in a plea deal with the States Attorney. He was sentenced to a spend 10 years in prison with all but one year suspended and a credit of time served of 184 days, putting him back on the street in time to have a date with his destiny that culminated in his murder.</span></span></div>
