<p>LOCATION: 300 Block of Melvin Ave., Grasonville</p>
<p>NARRATIVE: The theft of the bikes was reported by a grandparent of one of the juvenile victims. It was reported that the two bicycles were left in the front yard last seen sometime after midnight on 8/5 and discovered missing at 1300 hours that afternoon.</p>
<p>The bikes were described as a blue/black/gray framed GT Custom Mountain Bike with numerous custom items including a red front tire, a black pan eraser, primo wide pedals, black Asonic handle bars and a front disc brake. This bike was valued at $700. The second bike was a black &; white Avigo children’s bike valued at $200.</p>

<h3>Recipient of charity from church used bank routing numbers to scam her benefactor</h3>

<p>LOCATION: Stevensville, MD</p>
<p>NARRATIVE: A program to offer emergency assistance persons with bills funded by a local church in Stevensville has reported several fraudulent charges to their account. The program makes the payments directly rather than hand out checks to the person. When a local woman was able to get an actual check from the program several charges were notified on a bank statement. The woman appears to have used the routing number from the check to set up several direct payments to insurance and cell phone companies.</p>
<p>The account has since been frozen and investigation continues.</p>

<p>NARRATIVE: Victims returned home to find the residence had been broken into with cash and numerous jewelry items missing. Some of the jewelry was described as a pearl necklace, a purple Amethyst ring and a high school class ring. The loss was estimated at $20,000. The Sheriff’s Criminal Investigation Unit has taken the case.</p>

<p>LOCATION: 200 Block of Merganser Drive, Chestertown</p>
<p>ARREST: Alana Gail McMorris (32) of Chestertown</p>
<p>CHARGE: Violation of Probation / Possession of CDS (Cocaine)</p>
<p>NARRATIVE: Deputy went to a residence on Merganser Drive and on arrival saw McMorris in the kitchen and placed her under arrest on a Bench Warrant for VOP. She asked to use her cell phone to call someone to care for a family member. When the deputy looked in her purse for the cell phone, he saw a metal spoon and a smoking device with suspected cocaine residue.</p>
<p>McMorris was held on no bail at the QA Detention Center.</p>

<p>NARRATIVE: Owner of the company advised a house under construction had been entered and damaged sometime around the 1sty week of August. He reported finding a dozen copper wires in the basement had been cut and removed. The loss was estimated at $250.</p>

<h3>Midnight Tool Supply: burglar takes off with $4,000 in tools to fuel drug use</h3>

<p>VICTIM: James K. Douglas of Chestertown</p>
<p>NARRATIVE: Victim reported that a broken window was noticed at the wood shop behind the residence. A check of the building revealed numerous power tools missing including a power washer, a Delta surface Planer, a Milwaukee hammer drill, a Ryobi Router, Ryobi portable table saw, a Bostich air compressor and several nail guns. The estimated loss was over $4000.</p>
