OWINGS MILLS, MD. — Baltimore County Police report that at 4:58 p.m. Sunday afternoon, (July 20, 2014) Baltimore County Police and Fire units responded to the unit block of Windermere Court 21117 for a report of a stabbing. Upon arriving at the scene, officers found an adult male victim in a vehicle suffering from a stab wound to the upper body.
The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
The initial investigation into this incident has indicated that the victim went to visit the suspect, who is his girlfriend, at an apartment in the 4600 block of Riverstone Drive 21117. During the visit, the suspect and the victim became involved in an altercation. During the altercation, the suspect stabbed the victim. The victim then fled the scene.
The suspect has been identified as 44-year-old Rhonda Leita Cauthen of the 4600 block of Riverstone Drive 21117. She has been charged with attempted first degree murder and related charges. She is being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center.
This incident is being investigated by the Baltimore County Police Violent Crimes Unit.
