MURDER USA — On June 5, 2014 at 4:21 PM, Deputies from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to 17511 Dawn Drive, Hagerstown, for a report of injured persons.
When Deputies arrived on scene, they forced entry into the residence. Deputies discovered 3 deceased adults located in the kitchen area of the residence.
The deceased individuals have been identified as Christopher Michael WACHTER, 23, white male, Kimberly Ann SMITH, 47, white female and William Frank SMITH Jr, 54, white male. Wachter is the son of Kimberly Smith and step-son of William Smith Jr. All three individuals listed 17511 Dawn Drive, Hagerstown, as their residence. Preliminarily, investigators believe William Smith Jr. killed Kimberly Smith and Wachter before he suffered a self inflicted gunshot to the chest.
Wachter suffered multiple stab wounds to his person. Kimberly Smith suffered multiple stab wounds to her person and a single gunshot to her chest.
The firearm used in this incident is believed to be a shotgun recovered at the scene.
The deceased have been transport to the Medical Examiner’s Office in Baltimore, MD for autopsy.
Preliminarily, investigators believe William Smith Jr. killed Kimberly Smith and Wachter before he suffered a self inflicted gunshot to the chest. Wachter suffered multiple stab wounds to his person. Kimberly Smith suffered multiple stab wounds to her person and a single gunshot to her chest.
