Louisa cops get to keep Maurice Dooms guns as he heads to prison for dealing cocaine

<figure id&equals;"attachment&lowbar;4066" aria-describedby&equals;"caption-attachment-4066" style&equals;"width&colon; 300px" class&equals;"wp-caption alignleft"><a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;the-chesapeake&period;com&sol;&sol;wp-content&sol;uploads&sol;2014&sol;05&sol;Louisa-County-Virginia-Sheriff&period;jpg"><img class&equals;"size-medium wp-image-4066" src&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;the-chesapeake&period;com&sol;&sol;wp-content&sol;uploads&sol;2014&sol;05&sol;Louisa-County-Virginia-Sheriff-300x200&period;jpg" alt&equals;"Louisa County Virginia Sheriff" width&equals;"300" height&equals;"200" &sol;><&sol;a><figcaption id&equals;"caption-attachment-4066" class&equals;"wp-caption-text">Louisa County Virginia Sheriff<&sol;figcaption><&sol;figure>&NewLine;<p><strong>Money will be Used by Law Enforcement to Catch <&sol;strong><strong>Criminals<br &sol;>&NewLine;<&sol;strong><strong>Louisa County&comma; Virginia <&sol;strong>– Louisa County Commonwealth’s Attorney Rusty McGuire announced that <strong>Maurice Dooms<&sol;strong>&comma; 41&comma; Gordonsville&comma; was sentenced to four years and six months in prison for cocaine distribution and firearm charges&period;  On December 12&comma; 2012&comma; Dooms sold drugs in another jurisdiction&period;  The <strong>Louisa County Narcotics Task Force<&sol;strong> was tracking the deal and immediately served a search warrant on Dooms’ residence in Gordonsville&period;  Officers recovered the drugs from the first sale and recovered 34 grams of cocaine&comma; shotgun&comma; pistol and over &dollar;5&comma;000 in cash from Dooms’ residence&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;The Commonwealth sought to seize and forfeit the weapons&comma; money and drugs and the forfeiture was granted by the court&period;  The drugs will be destroyed and the money will be used by law enforcement to help combat crime in Louisa&period;  The guns may be used by law enforcement for as long as useful and will then be destroyed&period;  On speaking on the conviction McGuire said &OpenCurlyDoubleQuote;this case shows us that crime does not pay&period;  Mr&period; Dooms’ thought he was making a quick buck but lost his drugs&comma; guns&comma; money and now his liberty&period;”<br &sol;>&NewLine;This case is the result of the Louisa County Narcotics Task Force comprised of members from the <strong>Louisa County Sheriff’s Office<&sol;strong> and Virginia State Police&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
