New York City Man Sentenced for Involvement in Cocaine Distribution Conspiracy

<p><figure id&equals;"attachment&lowbar;3255" aria-describedby&equals;"caption-attachment-3255" style&equals;"width&colon; 259px" class&equals;"wp-caption alignleft"><a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;the-chesapeake&period;com&sol;&sol;wp-content&sol;uploads&sol;2014&sol;03&sol;Cocaine-bricks&period;png"><img src&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;the-chesapeake&period;com&sol;&sol;wp-content&sol;uploads&sol;2014&sol;03&sol;Cocaine-bricks&period;png" alt&equals;"" title&equals;"Cocaine bricks" width&equals;"259" height&equals;"194" class&equals;"size-full wp-image-3255" &sol;><&sol;a><figcaption id&equals;"caption-attachment-3255" class&equals;"wp-caption-text">Attention coke-heads&excl; As dealers go to jail&comma; the price goes up&excl; <&sol;figcaption><&sol;figure>March 25&comma; 2014<br &sol;>&NewLine;HARRISBURG&comma; PENN&period; &&num;8212&semi; The United States Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania announced today that Senior United States District Court Judge Edwin M&period; Kosik has sentenced George Abreu&comma; age 32&comma; of New York&comma; New York&comma; to 57 months’ imprisonment for his involvement in a conspiracy to distribute more than 3&period;5 kilograms of cocaine between 2008 and May 24&comma; 2012&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>According to United States Attorney Peter J&period; Smith&comma; Abreu’s role in the conspiracy included delivering cocaine in New York City to individuals traveling from Luzerne County to obtain cocaine for distribution in the Pittston area&period; FBI agents arrested Abreu in New York City when he arrived to distribute cocaine to a cooperating witness&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>A federal grand jury sitting in Scranton&comma; Pennsylvania&comma; indicted Abreu on the conspiracy charge on March 12&comma; 2013&comma; and on October 21&comma; 2013&comma; Abreu pleaded guilty to the indictment&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>In addition to the 57-month term of imprisonment&comma; Judge Kosik also ordered that Abreu be placed on supervised release for a period of three years following the service of his sentence&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>The case was investigated by the Federal Bureau of Investigation&comma; the Pennsylvania State Police&comma; and the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Office&period; Assistant United States Attorney John Gurganus prosecuted the case&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
