Mersman attempted to stop a red Chevy Tahoe for a minor traffic infraction. The operator of the vehicle failed to stop and a vehicle pursuit ensued. The operator of the vehicle finally came to a stop and TFC Mersman arrested the driver of the vehicle. He was identified as Ricardo Cornell Garrett, 34, of Accokeek. A routine computer check revealed Garrett had an open Circuit Court warrant through St. Mary’s County for Child Support. A search of the car revealed a quantity of PCP. Garrett was transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center, charged and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner. Garrett was also charged with DWI. </p>
<p><strong>Decker charged on drug warrant</strong><br />
Mechanicsville &#8211;– State Police say that on Monday, September 16, 2013 at 7:14 pm, TFC N. Gresko served a Bench Warrant (T3-16171) on Jason Alan Decker, 23, of Mechanicsville. The warrant was issued by the District Court of St. Mary’s County with an original charge of Possession of CDS Paraphernalia on September 13, 2013. Mr. Decker was located at a residence on the 27000 block of Donna Drive, Mechanicsville, MD. He was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center. He was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner. </p>

LEXINGTON PARK – On Monday, September 16, 2013 at 3:15 pm, police report that TFC E. Mersman made contact with a suspicious person on Liberty Street at Pacific Drive. The person was later identified as Braheem James McKnight, 32, of Lexington Park. Mr. McKnight informed TFC Mersman he was in possession of CDS marijuana. A search of his person revealed three bags of CDS marijuana in Mr. McKnight’s pants pocket. Mr. McKnight was arrested and transported to the Leonardtown Barrack. He was processed and charged for with CDS marijuana. Mr. McKnight was later released from the Leonardtown Barrack. </p>
<p><strong>Driving while suspended lands Pennington in pokey</strong><br />
LEONARDTOWN – State Police report that on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at 9:28 pm, Tpr. K. Baker served a Bench Warrant (T3-16166) on Christopher Joseph Pennington, 24, of Leonardtown. The warrant was issued by the District Court of St. Mary’s County with an original charge of Driving While Suspended on September 11, 2013. Mr. Pennington was located at a residence at the 18000 block of Hodges Lane, Leonardtown, MD. He was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center. He was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner. </p>
<p><strong>Was McKinney delivering medical marijuana?</strong>MECHANICSVILLE – Police report that on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at 10:16 am TFC M. Pitcher initiated a traffic stop on a blue passenger car for a minor traffic infraction. While speaking with the driver, Mitchell Jay McKinney, 24, of Mechanicsville, he admitted to being in possession of CDS – Marijuana. A search of the vehicle recovered the CDS. Mr. McKinney was arrested and transported to the Leonardtown Barrack. Mr. McKinney was charged accordingly and later released. </p>
<p><strong>Johnson charged with assault</strong><br />
CALIFORNIA – Police say that on Friday, September 20, 2013 at 3:20 pm, TFC J. Gibson served a Bench Warrant on Willie Jae Johnson, 32, of California, Maryland. The warrant was issued by the District Court of St. Mary’s County with an original charge of Assault Second Degree on February 1, 2012. Mr. Johnson was located at the McDonalds in Leonardtown, MD. He was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center. He was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner. </p>
<p><strong>Arnold charged with assault</strong><br />
LEONARDTOWN &#8211; On Monday, September 23, 2013 at 5:10 am, TFC E. Mersman served a Bench Warrant (T3-16157) on Stephanie Lynn Arnold, 38, of Leonardtown. The warrant was issued by the District Court of St. Mary’s County with an original charge of Assault Second Degree on September 6, 2013. Ms. Arnold was located at a residence at the 22000 block of Wheatleys Way, Leonardtown, MD. She was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center. She was served and held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner. </p>
