<p>April 15&comma; 1952 &&num;8211&semi; August 24&comma; 2013 Visitation&colon; St&period; Mary&&num;8217&semi;s Catholic Church&comma; Newport Friday&comma; August 30&comma; 2013 9&colon;00 AM &&num;8211&semi; 11&colon;00 AM Services&colon; St&period; Mary&&num;8217&semi;s Catholic Church&comma; Newport Friday&comma; August 30&comma; 2013 11&colon;00 AM Cemetery Services&colon; St&period; Mary&&num;8217&semi;s Catholic Church&comma; Newport Friday&comma; August 30&comma; 2013 12&colon;00 PM Shirley Cecilia Farmer Winters also known as Shirl&comma; Squirrel &amp&semi; Maw Maw&comma; went home to be with our Lord and Savior on August 24&comma; 2013 at the Hospice House of Charles County in Waldorf&comma; Maryland&period; Shirley was born April 15&comma; 1952 in Dentsville&comma; Maryland to the late Susie Farmer and Benjamin Jenifer&period; She was educated in the Charles County Public School system and graduated from LaPlata High School in 1971&period; At the very young age of five years old&comma; Shirley went to live with her special mother and cousin Blanche Dorsey -Winters in Dentsville&comma; Maryland&period; Shirley married Carl Winters on June 24&comma; 1976&comma; out of that union two children were born&period; She worked for Peoples Drug Store formerly in La Plata&comma; Maryland and from time to time as a substitute teacher for the Board of Education in Charles County&period; Shirley made a career of working in the local country deli stores including Posey&&num;8217&semi;s Market&comma; Twin Kiss and prior to her disability Cooksey&&num;8217&semi;s Store&period; Shirley enjoyed playing cards&comma; going to bingo&comma; attending church dinners&comma; cooking&comma; spending quality time with her grandchildren&comma; watching the redskins play football and socializing with her family and friends&period; In addition to her parents&semi; she is preceded in death by special mother Blanche Dorsey Winters and very close friend&sol;cousin Ann Holt&period; Shirley leaves to cherish and celebrate her memories daughter Melissa Nicole Winters&semi; son James Kevin Winters&semi; Three granddaughters&colon; Aniyah&comma; Jasmine and Jaelynn&semi; one special daughter-in-law Joanna Winters&semi; sister Jackie Dotson&comma; brother Joseph Dorsey&semi; half-brother James Jenifer&semi; special brother Howard Dorsey&semi; special daughter Ann Woodland&semi; special niece Ashley Dotson&semi; godchildren&comma; Shadauna Yates&comma; Darould Butler Sr&period;&comma; Sidney Butler Sr&period; and Barbara Cole&semi; close friend&sol;cousin Mary Lou Cole&semi; one brother in-law James Winters Sr&period;&lpar;Mary Annie&rpar; &semi; three sister-in-laws Yvonne Robinson &lpar;James&rpar;&comma; Wilma Estep &lpar;Lonnie&rpar;&comma; Gladys Estep and Alice Winters&semi; special friend Irene Edwards and a host of nieces&comma; nephews relatives and friends&period; The family will receive friends on Friday August 30&comma; 2013 from 9 am to 11 AM at the St&period; Mary&&num;8217&semi;s Newport Church&period; Interment to follow in the church cemetery&period; Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Charles County 2505 Davis Rd&period; Waldorf&comma; MD 20603&period; Arrangements provided by the Arehart-Echols Funeral Home&comma; PA&period; LaPlata&comma; MD&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
