<p><figure id&equals;"attachment&lowbar;1941" aria-describedby&equals;"caption-attachment-1941" style&equals;"width&colon; 220px" class&equals;"wp-caption alignleft"><a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;the-chesapeake&period;com&sol;&sol;wp-content&sol;uploads&sol;2013&sol;08&sol;Chesapeake-Today-front-page-Aug-20131&period;jpg"><img src&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;the-chesapeake&period;com&sol;&sol;wp-content&sol;uploads&sol;2013&sol;08&sol;Chesapeake-Today-front-page-Aug-20131-220x300&period;jpg" alt&equals;"" title&equals;"Chesapeake Today front page Aug 2013" width&equals;"220" height&equals;"300" class&equals;"size-medium wp-image-1941" &sol;><&sol;a><figcaption id&equals;"caption-attachment-1941" class&equals;"wp-caption-text">On newsstands everywhere in Southern Maryland<&sol;figcaption><&sol;figure>Road Race on 235 Ends With Pole In One<br &sol;>&NewLine;CALIFORNIA&colon; According to a St&period; Mary’s County Sheriff’s Department spokesman&comma; on August 22&comma; 2013 at 1942 hours Patrol Units from the St&period; Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office responded to the intersection of Rt&period; 235 &amp&semi; Shady Mile Drive in California for the reported serious motor vehicle collision&period; Patrol Units discovered a 1992 Honda Civic CRX &comma; operated by Anthony Paul Levine&comma; 35&comma; of Denton&comma; Maryland had struck a traffic signal support pole&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;Mr&period; Levine was trapped in the vehicle and required extrication&period; After Mr&period; Levine was extricated from the vehicle he was transported to Baltimore Shock Trauma by Maryland State Police Helicopter Trooper 7 with what was believed to be life threatening injuries&period; Due to the injuries sustained by Mr&period; Levine the Sheriff’s Office Collision Reconstruction Team responded to the scene and assumed the investigation&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;Investigators determined Mr&period; Levine was traveling northbound on Rt&period; 235 approaching Shady Mile Drive&comma; reportedly in a speed contest with a full size white pick-up truck&comma; possibly a diesel&comma; which had a loud exhaust and some type of green exterior lighting&period; At the intersection of Shady Mile Drive Mr&period; Levine lost control of his vehicle&comma; left the northbound side of the roadway and struck a traffic light support pole causing him to become entrapped in his vehicle&period; Mr&period; Levine was reported to be in stable condition at the time of this press release&period; Speed is the primary contributing factor to the crash with no indications of impairment&period; This investigation is on going and anyone who may have been in the area&comma; observed the crash or have information on the full size white pick-up truck is asked to contact Deputy Alvin Beishline &num; 252 of the St&period; Mary’s County Sheriff’s Office Collision Reconstruction Team at &lpar;301&rpar;475-4200 Ext&period; 9019&period;<&sol;p>&NewLine;
