Riding is great this time of the year. One memorable trip is the ride to the Wall. If you haven’t done that yet, make it a must do this year. Over the Memorial Day Holiday, my lovely bride and I took a ride to the annual Memorial Service at the American Legion in Ridge, Md. Not only did we enjoy the ride, we were part of a service honoring our fallen veterans.
There is something going on around Southern Maryland every weekend during riding season. Poker Runs are good for your outer and inner soul. It is an event for enjoying the ride and at the same time doing something good to support a neighbor or worthy cause.
Looking for an upcoming Poker Run? Check out the fliers and bulletins posted at the All American Harley Davidson shop in Hughesville. While there, see Jimmy Payne about getting a great deal on that Harley that caught your eye.
A good local Poker Run is coming up on June 12
Pick up your first card at the registration table, your second card at the Heavy Hitters in Mechanicsville, your third card at Ape Hangers in Bel Alton; your fourth card at the Blue Dog Saloon, Port Tobacco; your last card will be drawn at Scott’s II in Welcome, Md.
I mention all of the stops and spots because they are sponsors for this worthy cause. Being a veteran of many Poker Runs, I know how good a cold beer sounds on a really hot day.
Since alcohol effects your judgment, your muscular motor skills, and coordination, not to mention your balance, please use your head (the one on your shoulders, not the men’s room) – enough said.
Look cool when you ride.
