Somerset Sheriff Ronnie Howard Reports Recent Arrests:

PRINCESS ANNE, MD. — Darren Terrell Whittington of Princess Anne, arrested 7-1-15 on a warrant for failing to appear in court. Whittington was held on a $5,000 bond.

James Spencer Loper of Westover, arrested 7-1-15 on a warrant for failing to appear in court. Loper was released on a $5,000 unsecured bond.

Ronald Francis Wright Jr. of Crisfield, arrested 7-2-15 for theft under $1,000. Wright was released on personal recognizance. The arrest was the result of a theft investigation of rip rap that had been removed from the Apes Hole bulkheads in Crisfield.

Silver Jewell Thomas of Westover, criminal summons served 7-3-15 for giving false statements to law enforcement. Thomas was released on signature pending court action.

Kelly Lynn Garpstas of Westover, arrested 7-5-15 for driving under the influence of alcohol, driving while impaired by alcohol, negligent driving, and consuming alcohol within a vehicle. She was arrested by Somerset Deputy R. Daum while operating on Rt. 413 at Kingston Lane at 1:06 am.   Garpstas was released on signature pending District Court action. The arrest was the result of a traffic stop conducted by deputies in the area of Crisfield Highway and Sign Post Rd.  Garpstas was convicted of DUI on Sept. 1, 2009 after pleading guilty for driving while impaired on June 12, 2009. She had been stopped on Rt. 413 at Fairmount Rod by a Maryland State Trooper while driving a Jeep, according to court records.  She was given Probation Before Judgment with a fine of $250 but the fine was suspended, thus she got no fine and no time in the deal with the Somerset County States Attorney.

Shane Alan Wooten of Princess Anne, arrested 7-8-15 on a warrant for failing to appear in court. Wooten was released on an unsecured bond.

Deandre Wintray Dashield of Salisbury, arrested 7-9-15 on a warrant for failing to appear in court. Dashield was held on a $500.00 bond.

Previously convicted drug dealer Timothy Esau Holbrook Sr. of 28405 Venton Road, Princess Anne, Md., was arrested 7-9-15 on a Circuit Court indictment from June 12, 2015 for possession of CDS with the intent to distribute, possession of CDS, not marijuana, CDS possession marijuana and maintaining a common nuisance. Holbrook was later held on a $150,000 bond. The accused drug dealer has a Public Defender representing him with a court hearing set for Sept. 30, 2015.  Holbrook was released on bail on July 9, 2015.

Holbrook was charged with dealing drugs on Aug. 16, 2001 and in Somerset County Circuit Court on May 17, 2002, he entered a guilty plea to one drug charge for which he was sentenced to prison for 4 years. The plea deal provided for 3 years and 4 months suspended.

Leonard Smith of Dames Quarter, arrested 7-9-15 on a warrant for 2nd degree assault. Smith was later released on personal recognizance.

Chauncey Anthony Wallace Sr. of Deal Island, arrested 7-9-15 on a warrant for failing to appear in court. Wallace was held on a $500.00 bond.

Terrelle Lavonja Simmons of Crisfield, criminal summons served for 2nd degree assault, disorderly conduct, and trespassing. Simmons was released on signature pending court action.

Alvis James Schoolfield of Eden, arrested 7-13-15 on a warrant regarding 2nd degree assault. Schoolfield was released on personal recognizance.

Tyriek Johnnie Tenner of Crisfield, arrested 7-13-15 on a warrant for violation of probation. Tenner was held without bond.
