Stafford Police Beat Deputies put the long arm of the law on serial traffic offender

John Alexander Watts, thirty-one-years-old from Stafford County, was arrested for Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle, two counts of Hit and Run, Driving Under the Influence, Driving on Suspended and various other traffic charges.

The Rt. 301 Governor Harry Nice Bridge is 135 feet tall to accommodate large ship traffic to ports in Alexandria and Washington and the U. S. Navy Yard in Washington, D.C.
Rt. 301 crosses the Potomac River by the Gov. Harry W. Nice Bridge. The bridge opened in 1941 and had guards posted against German saboteurs during WWII.
