<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">BALTIMORE, MD. – The streets of Baltimore are going to be just a smidgeon safer with one armed robber stabbed to death in 2017 and a man now charged with his murder.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Baltimore Police report that on February 14, 2018, the Baltimore Warrant Apprehension detectives arrested 23-year-old Eric Carter of 3018 W. Lanvale Street, Baltimore, Md.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Carter was arrested for the murder of a 34-year-old man in the 700 block of Popular Grove on September 13, 2017.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Detectives transported Eric Carter to Central Booking Intake Facility where he has been charged with 1st and 2nd-degree murder and 1st and 2nd assault.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">On September 13, 2017, at approximately 1:09 a.m., Southwest District patrol officers responded to the 700 block of Popular Grove Street for a report of a cutting.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Once at the location, officers located 34-year-old Daivon Evans laying in the grass, bleeding heavily.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Evans was transported to an area hospital where he later died.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was assaulted and stabbed.</span></p>

<h2>Murdered Evans was a convicted armed robber</h2>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Daivon Evans entered into a plea bargain with Baltimore States Attorney Marilyn Mosby on Feb. 27, 2013, when he was facing charges of armed carjacking, robbery, assault, and theft. THE DEAL: Evans pleaded guilty to robbery and the other charges, including violation of probation, were dropped. Evans was sentenced to twelve years in prison with eleven years, one month and twenty-five days suspended in the deal. He was ordered to be on supervised probation for three years.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Evans was sentenced to twelve years in prison on March 4, 2004, for armed robbery when he struck a plea deal with the Baltimore City States Attorney. THE DEAL: seven years were suspended and probation for three years.</span></p>
