<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">MASSEY, MD. – A sleigh ride in the snow would have been a lot safer for Catherine Ellen Virginia Carroll, 24, of 128 N. Walnut Street, Smyrna, Del., than the decision she allegedly made to drink drive, skid, and overturn on a snowy section of Massey Road in Kent County. If Carroll survives to take another adventure on the highway with a snoot full, it would be the fifth time, as she was convicted of DUI in Maryland in 2015 and 2011, and currently faces a DUI charge in Delaware, with a new charge looming for her release from a hospital. Her career as a drunk driver is strongly indicating that only a long jail term will show her that taking her party on the road to maim and kill others won’t be tolerated.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Maryland State Police report that on Saturday, December 9, 2017, at approximately 7:55 PM, troopers from the Centreville Barrack responded to the area of 12604 Massey Road (MD Rt. 299), Massey, Kent County about a serious single motor vehicle collision.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Police report that their preliminary investigation determined the Ford F-250 pick-up truck, bearing Delaware registration C497491, operated by Carroll was traveling southbound when the vehicle exited the right side of the roadway, collided with a culvert, overturned, causing her to be ejected.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Galena EMS took Carroll to Christina Medical Center in Newark, Delaware for treatment of her injuries. Alcohol and severe Weather/Road Conditions are believed to be a contributing factor.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Carroll remains in critical but stable condition. The collision remains under investigation.</span></p>

<li><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Carroll was arrested by Clayton Delaware Police on Sept. 30, 2017, when an officer observed her weaving while driving on Wheatleys Pond Road, according to the Delaware State News. Carroll failed sobriety tests and refused to take a breath test, leading to a blood draw to determine her level of intoxication. She was charged with driving while revoked, DUI, and other traffic charges.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: 12pt;">Carroll sought a jury trial in Queen Anne’s County Circuit Court after being arrested for DUI on June 5, 2015, by Maryland State Trooper Young of the Centreville Barrack. Carroll was arrested as she drove northbound on Rt. 290 at Pondtown Road in a Chevy. In a plea deal with Queen Anne’s County States Attorney on Oct. 27, 2015, Carroll entered a guilty plea rather than wait for the jury to decide her fate. THE DEAL: In return for the guilty plea she was sentenced to one year in jail with all but 21 days suspended and a fine of $350.00. Her deal included three years of probation, which now will lead to her facing jail time as these new DUI charges will cause her to have her probation violated. December must be a big month for her party time, with the exception of 2015 as she began her 21 days in the slammer on Dec. 18, 2015.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: 12pt;">After being arrested by Maryland State Trooper Cox as she cruised southbound on Rt. 279 north of Blue Ball Road in Cecil County in her Ford Ranger on Sept 4, 2011, she got a plea deal with the Cecil County States Attorney. THE DEAL: in return for entering a guilty plea in Cecil County District Court on Nov. 2, 2011, she was sentenced to ZERO jail time and a fine of $135.00, which suggests that the prosecutor must have found her to be cute. Carroll was put on probation until Nov. 2, 2012, and court records show that she was charged with violating her probation.</span></li>
