<p><strong>PURSUIT OF NEW JERSEY CARJACKING SUSPECT ENDED AT FT. McHENRY TUNNEL<br />

<div id="id_548b0edfa6af78b15542037" class="text_exposed_root text_exposed">According to <strong>Westampton Township Police</strong> in New Jersey, on 12/11/2014 at 1448 hrs, <strong>The Westampton Twp Police</strong> were dispatched to<a href="http://twinoakscs.org/" target="_blank"> 770 Woodlane Rd, Twin </a>Oaks for the report of a motor vehicle theft that had just occurred. The suspect later identified as Trent S. Talley, 29, of Cinnamin<span class="text_exposed_show">son, approached a medical transport vehicle that was on location and threatened the vehicles driver by stating &#8220;Do you want to die today?&#8221;. </span></div>

<div class="text_exposed_root text_exposed"><span class="text_exposed_show">Mr. Talley then forcibly entered the vehicle and left location, traveling through the townships of Westampton, Burlington , Florence and Bordentown via Route 295 North . Mr. Talley eventually got back onto the NJTP in Florence and fled from the New Jersey State Police after being given the signal to stop. Mr. Talley continued to elude the New Jersey State Police on the New Jersey Turnpike south bound into Delaware. </span></div>

<div class="text_exposed_root text_exposed"><span class="text_exposed_show">The pursuit was continued by the <strong>Delaware State Police</strong> into Maryland. <strong>Maryland State Police</strong> were eventually able to end the pursuit near the <strong>Fort McHenry Tunnel</strong> using stop sticks and a rolling roadblock. Mr. Talley was taken into custody and charged additionally with the out of state violations that he committed. Sgt Ferguson of the Westampton Twp Police charged Mr. Talley with <strong>Carjacking ,Theft of motor vehicle, Theft of property, and Terroristic Threats</strong>. Total bail was set at $200,000.00. Mr. Talley will be extradited once he faces the out of state charges. No injuries were reported.<br />

<p>(BALTIMORE, MD) – Maryland State Police troopers and <strong>Maryland Transportation Authority Police officers</strong> safely ended the pursuit of a New Jersey carjacking suspect late this afternoon just before he entered the Ft. McHenry Tunnel.</p>
<p>The suspect is identified as <strong>Trent S. Talley,</strong> 29, of Cinnaminson, New Jersey. He is currently in <strong>Maryland State Police</strong> custody and has been transported by ambulance to Harford Memorial Hospital for an emergency petition evaluation. Charges against him are pending. He is also facing multiple charges in New Jersey, where the incident began.</p>
<p>Shortly after <span class="aBn" tabindex="0" data-term="goog_1525309131"><span class="aQJ">5:00 p.m. today</span></span>, <strong>Maryland State Police</strong> at the JFK Highway Barrack received a call from the owner of a 2013 Kia Sol, who said his vehicle had been stolen in a carjacking earlier this afternoon at a<strong> mental health facility in Mt. Holly, New Jersey</strong>. He said the vehicle was being tracked by GPS and was currently in the area of the Maryland House rest stop on I-95.</p>
<p>Troopers were immediately dispatched to the area and, while the owner was still on the phone, caught up to the vehicle in the area of southbound I-95 near New Forge Road. Troopers activated emergency lights and sirens, but the suspect, later identified as Talley, refused to stop and accelerated in an attempt to flee.</p>
<p>State Police notified MdTA Police and officers deployed stop sticks near O’Donnell Street. Two tires on the vehicle were deflated, causing the driver to slow.</p>
<p>Near the toll plaza, two state troopers in marked cars and one in an unmarked car, used a rolling roadblock technique to box the suspect in and forced him to a stop. All three police vehicles were damaged, as was the stolen cars. No one was injured. No other vehicles traveling in the area were struck or damaged.</p>
<p>Troopers and MdTA officers took Talley, the sole occupant of the vehicle, into custody. They observed he was <strong>bleeding from cuts on his hands</strong> and EMS responded. He was treated at the scene and released to state troopers. It is believed his hands were injured during the initial incident in New Jersey, when he may have broken a window.</p>
<p>Maryland State Police notified New Jersey authorities that Talley was in custody. He is expected to be charged here and will likely be extradited at a later time back to New Jersey.</p>
