<p><strong>CLEMENTS, MD. &#8212; Maryland State Police report that o</strong>n Saturday, June 28, 2014 at 11:42 pm, Tpr. E. Krenik stopped with a disabled 1998 Honda motorcycle on Route 234 and Route 242. Tpr. Krenik initiated Standardized Field Sobriety Tests on the driver, Gregory Bertrand Gagnon, 49, of 28990 Shannon Court in Mechanicsville.</p>
<p>During the field sobriety tests, Mr. Gagnon began to get disorderly. Mr. Gagnon was placed under arrest and a brief struggle ensued. Cpl O’Connor arrived on the scene and used an agency issued stun gun on him with no effect.</p>
<p>Tpr. Krenik and assisting officers subdued Mr. Gagnon and transported him to St. Mary’s Hospital for medical treatment. Mr. Gagnon was then transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center and charged with Second Degree Assault to a Law Enforcement Officer, Resisting Arrest, Failure to Obey a Lawful Order, Disorderly Conduct, Malicious Destruction of Property Greater than $1000, and DUI. He was held pending a bond review with the District Court Commissioner.</p>
<ul>
<li>On June 22, 1995, Gagnon was charged by Maryland State Trooper R. Lemerise with multiple charges of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, assault, battery and malicious destruction of property. After the charges were placed in District Court, his attorney requested a jury trial in Circuit Court.</li>
<li>With attorney John Mowrey providing him a valiant criminal defense for charges of battery placed against him on Sept. 25, 1996; in Charles County District Court Gagnon was found not guilty on Jan. 23, 1996.</li>
<li>Gagnon was on the prowl in Ocean City, Md., when he was charged with trespassing on a boat and disorderly conduct on June 14, 1996. With the assistance of a defense attorney, he made a plea agreement that resulted in the charges being put on the stet docket in Worcester County District Court on Nov. 19, 1996.</li>
<li>On Nov. 20, 1997, Gagnon was charged by Charles County Sheriff’s Officer Paul Gregory with possession of marijuana and he pleaded guilty in Charles County District Court on May 19, 1998. He was fined $95.00 and received sixty days in jail, all of which was suspended.</li>
<li>On Jan. 17, 1998, Gagnon was charged by Officer Piazza with assault and possession of marijuana. As Gagnon was on probation during this time, it was lucky for him that Charles County States Attorney Leonard Collins dropped the charges against him on May 19, 1998.</li>
<li>In April of 1999, Gagnon was charged by the Maryland State Police Cpl. Reitz in Prince Frederick with DUI.</li>
<li>In District Court in Calvert County, Md., on Oct. 6, 1999, Gagnon pleaded guilty in a plea deal arranged by his attorney Joseph Vallario III on a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was ordered to pay court costs of $35.</li>
<li>Ocean City appears to be one of Gagnon’s prime haunts and on Oct. 29, 2002, he was found guilty of malicious destruction of property over $500. Gagnon was fined $300 in Worcester County District Court for the incident which took place on Aug. 7, 2002.</li>
<li>Gagnon was charged with second degree assault on Sept. 21, 2003 by St. Mary’s Sheriff’s Deputy Elizabeth Goodwin. On Jan. 22, 2004 St. Mary’s States Attorney Richard Fritz dropped the charges against Gagnon.</li>
<li>On Oct. 10, 2004, Gagnon was charged with resisting arrest in St. Mary’s County District Court and was found guilty on Jan. 6, 2005 and was sentenced to eighteen months in jail with twelve months suspended. St. Mary’s Sheriff’s deputies involved in the arrest were: Edward Evans, David Yingling, Robert Steward, Vyvan Walker and Earl Young. Waldorf attorney John A. Adams represented Gagnon. Gagnon was placed on probation following his serving his jail time with the probation to continue until July 6, 2008.</li>
<li>Also on Oct. 10, 2004, Gagnon was charged with DUI by St. Mary’s Sheriff’s Deputy David Yingling.</li>
<li>Again, a deal with St. Mary’s States Attorney Richard Fritz on Feb. 15, 2010 resulted in criminal assault charges against the six-foot-two, two hundred and thirty pound Gagnon being placed on the stet docket, which means that the charges are temporarily set aside for one year on the condition that he not break the law for one year, which is a real crapshoot for this guy.</li>
<li>More assault charges were placed against Gagnon on Dec. 14, 2011 when St. Mary’s Sheriff’s Deputy Joseph Somerville charged him with assault. In that incident which took place on Dec. 10, 2011, Gagnon asked for a jury trial in Circuit Court. Once again, a charmed life for Gagnon with his various charges resulted in St. Mary’s States Attorney Richard Fritz dropping the charges on Sept. 7, 2012.</li>
<li>On March 2, 2012, Gagnon was charged with failing to display his driver’s license to a Maryland State Trooper while driving a 1993 Chevy on Rt. 6 near Lettie Dent Elementary School at 6:44 am and on March 29, 2012 he pleaded guilty and paid a $50 fine.</li>
