The complainant called police and looked after the child until police arrived. Deputy Manns immediately recognized the child from a previous incident in which the child was found outside unattended.<br />
Deputy Manns contacted the mother of the child, identified as Shanise Amber Lee Dotson, 25, of Lexington Park at her residence. The child had been gone for over an hour. Dotson was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center by Deputy Manns. She was charged with Neglect of a Minor. </p>

Police report that on October 2, 2013, Walmart loss prevention associate watched a female subject, later identified as Crystal Dawn Balch, 28, of California, Maryland select items of merchandise from a shelf and place them into an empty Walmart bag.<br />
Balch then approached the customer service counter, claimed to have previously purchased the items in the bag, and returned them. Balch received a gift card. She was placed under arrest and transported to the St. Mary’s County Detention Center by Deputy Anthony Cole. She was charged with Theft: Less Than $100.00. </p>
