The preliminary investigation revealed the white 1997 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck bearing MD registration LC5326 was the target of a lookout regarding a traffic complaint for reckless operation. The investigation further revealed the operator, identified as Wesley Allen Preston(44 of Lexington Park), suffered a medical emergency. Roadway evidence revealed the vehicle was traveling south on MD Rt. 4, struck the concrete divider/curb at Southern Connector Boulevard, and struck several street signs and a traffic light support pole. The vehicle rolled onto the driver’s side and slid approximately 100 feet before coming to rest. The driver, Preston, sustained serious injuries. Preston was flown by Trooper 7 to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Unit in Baltimore. Preston is currently listed in critical condition.
