<p>Roger Thomas Swann &lpar;Age 67&rpar; of Marbury&comma; Maryland <&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Roger Thomas Swann departed this life on Thursday&comma; August 15&comma; 2013&comma; at University of Maryland&comma; Charles Regional Medical Center&comma; formerly known as Civista Medical Center&period; <&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Roger was born&comma; February 8&comma; 1946&comma; to the late James and the late Alice Swann in Marbury&comma; Maryland&period; He was educated in the Charles County School System&period; After graduating high school&comma; Roger joined the Job Corps in Oregon where he learned a trade&period; Upon completing Job Corps he returned to this area and began working for the Charles County School System&period; In the late 70’s he began working for Butch Waste Management Company and he worked there for 15 years&period; He had another job which was selling candy and soda to family and friends&period; <&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Roger was a daddy to all his nieces and nephews&comma; especially around the time of Christmas&period; He was famous for his delicious homemade eggnog which made everyone extremely happy&period; Roger also had a great passion for football and always cheered for his Washington Redskins&period; To know him was to love him&period; <&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>In addition to his parents&comma; Roger was preceded in death by his brother&comma; Michael A&period; Dyer and niece&comma; Candace Swann&period; <&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Left to cherish many fond memories are his sister&comma; Alice Faye Shaw&semi; two brothers&comma; James E&period; Swann&comma; Jr&period; and David Wayne Swann&comma; Sr&period;&semi; two sisters-in-law&comma; Mary Yvonne Swann who was a dedicated caretaker for him up until his death and Brenda Swann&semi; aunt&comma; Romaine Sims and uncle&comma; Steve Thomas&period; Also surviving are his god-daughter&comma; Calese Williams and best friend&comma; Joseph Allen Mason&period; <&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Roger helped raise his nieces and nephews&semi; Taneasha&comma; Jermaine&comma; David and James Swann&comma; Jr&period;&semi; Terry Price&comma; Keisha Beal&comma; Lettisha and Paulette Shaw&semi; and the late Candace Swann&period; Roger had many great nieces and nephews who were all his helpers&semi; Jareika Swann who was his home nurse and Jasmine&comma; Jameya&comma; Janyiah&comma; Jamonie&comma; Quenasha&comma; Javontae&comma; Brianna&comma; Khalil and Serria&period; Roger will be greatly missed&period; <&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>His viewing will be held from 9&colon;00am until time of service 11&colon;00am on Friday&comma; August 23&comma; 2013 in the Chapel of Thornton Funeral Home&comma; P&period;A&period;&comma; 3439 Livingston Road&comma; Indian Head&comma; MD 20640&period; <&sol;p>&NewLine;<p>Interment&comma; Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery&comma; Marbury&comma; MD&period; <&sol;p>&NewLine;
