<p>August 30&comma; 1920 &&num;8211&semi; August 21&comma; 2013 Visitation&colon; Brinsfield Funeral Home Thursday&comma; August 29&comma; 2013 5&colon;00 PM &&num;8211&semi; 8&colon;00 PM Life Celebration with Prayers at 7 PM Services&colon; Brinsfield Funeral Home Friday&comma; August 30&comma; 2013 11&colon;00 AM Funeral Service Cemetery Services&colon; Trinity Memorial Gardens Friday&comma; August 30&comma; 2013 Evelyn Pearl Turner&comma; 92 of Great Mills&comma; MD died August 21&comma; 2013 at her residence&period; Born August 30&comma; 1920 in Glenmont&comma; MD&comma; she is the daughter of the late Guy Pinkney Linkins and Sarah Ethel &&num;8220&semi;Richardson&&num;8221&semi; Linkins&period; Evelyn began her career as a waitress at Union Station during World War II&period; She went on to spend 15 years with the Army&sol;Navy Times publishing military newspapers&period; She retired after many years of dedicated service as an Aide with the Office on Aging&period; She was a long time member of American Legion Post Aux&period; &num;255 in Ridge&comma; MD&comma; where she held many offices&comma; including Sergeant of Arms&comma; Chaplain&comma; and Historian and was on the Executive Committee&period; She enjoyed it when the Legion would volunteer at the Charlotte Hall Veterans Home&comma; holding various functions&comma; including carnivals for the residents&period; She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed playing poker&period; She loved to listen to music and attend dances&period; Her other hobbies included fishing&comma; crabbing&comma; and traveling to the beaches of Florida and the Pennsylvania mountains&period; Evelyn loved spending time with her cat&period; She always liked to look nice&comma; and dressed for every day like it was a special occasion&period; Evelyn had a twinkle in her beautiful blue eyes and compassion for all people&semi; she especially loved spending time with her family&period; Her favorite expression was &&num;8220&semi;Yea Baby&excl;&&num;8221&semi; Evelyn is survived by her children&comma; Patricia Spence of Great Mills&comma; MD&comma; and Ed Payne &lpar;Stephanie&rpar; of Aurora&comma; CO&semi; her sister&comma; Viola E&period; Wendel of Bay Minette&comma; AL&semi; her grandchildren&comma; Cherie Guthrie &lpar;Andy&rpar; of Turbotville&comma; PA&comma; Evelyn Spence &lpar;Tom Ward&rpar; of Chesapeake Beach&comma; MD&comma; Susan Payne of Portland&comma; ME&comma; Sarah Payne of Brunswick&comma; ME&comma; Michaela Payne of Aurora&comma; CO and Erin Payne of Aurora&comma; Co&period; She is also survived by eight great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren&period; In addition to her parents&comma; she was also preceded in death by her loving husband&period; Family will receive friends on Thursday&comma; August 29&comma; 2013 from 5 to 8 p&period;m&period;&comma; with prayers recited at 7 p&period;m&period;&comma; at the Brinsfield Funeral Home&comma; 22955 Hollywood Road&comma; Leonardtown&comma; MD 20650&period; A Funeral Service will be conducted by Reverend Joe Orlando on Friday&comma; August 30&comma; 2013 at 11&colon;00 a&period;m&period; at the Brinsfield Funeral Home Chapel followed by a Graveside Service at Trinity Memorial Gardens&comma; Mattawoman Beantown Rd&comma; Waldorf&comma; MD 20604&period; Serving as pallbearers will be George Conley&comma; Richard Wilkinson&comma; Ray Blauvelt&comma; and Paul Becker&period; Memorial contributions may be made to American Legion Post 255&comma; P&period;O&period; Box 238 Ridge&comma; Maryland 20680 and Hospice of St&period; Mary&&num;8217&semi;s&comma; P&period;O&period; Box 625&comma; Leonardtown&comma; MD 20650&period; Condolences to the family may be made at www&period;brinsfieldfuneral&period;com&period; Arrangements by the Brinsfield Funeral Home&comma; P&period;A&period;&comma; Leonardtown&comma; MD&period;<br &sol;>&NewLine;<a href&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;the-chesapeake&period;com&sol;&sol;wp-content&sol;uploads&sol;2013&sol;08&sol;Evelyn-Pearl-Turner&period;jpg"><img src&equals;"https&colon;&sol;&sol;www&period;the-chesapeake&period;com&sol;&sol;wp-content&sol;uploads&sol;2013&sol;08&sol;Evelyn-Pearl-Turner-150x150&period;jpg" alt&equals;"" title&equals;"Evelyn Pearl Turner" width&equals;"150" height&equals;"150" class&equals;"alignleft size-thumbnail wp-image-1859" &sol;><&sol;a><&sol;p>&NewLine;
