Delaware State Police Beat: Police believe speed and booze sent Jeep flipping into pole; cut in half, killing driver

The initial investigation has determined that the crash occurred as a 46-year-old Middletown, Del., man was operating a 2002 Jeep Liberty and was traveling in a northbound direction on Dexter Corner Road north of Ratledge Road, just south of Townsend. For an unknown reason, the Jeep left the east edge of Dexter Corner Road before veering back onto the roadway and leaving the west edge where it began to overturn.
