Dover Police Beat: Undocumented shoppers of Dover keep defense attorneys busy

DOVER, DEL. — The Dover Police Department report that they responded to 15 shoplifting calls between January 1st and Noon on January 8th. Of those 15 shoplifting complaints, one was unfounded, seven are still under investigation, and arrests were made/warrants obtained in 7 cases. A total of 6 adults were arrested or are wanted for shoplifting during this period. Two juveniles were also arrested/had warrants obtained during this period.

The Dover Police Department responded to 18 shoplifting calls between Noon on December 11th and Noon on December 18th. Of those 18 shoplifting complaints, three were unfounded, five are still under investigation, and arrests were made/warrants obtained in 10 cases. A total of 12 adults were arrested during this period. After the final shoplifting notification on January 2nd, 2015 the Dover Police Department will compile statistics since the notification program began and compare them to 2012 and 2013 numbers to determine if there was any success in reducing shoplifting incidents.

When an employee offered to assist the suspects, Rivera quickly declined the offer and continued to roam the store with the other suspect. A short time later, the suspects removed a total of 30 Northface brand jackets valued at $131.90 each for a total of $3957.00 and fled into a silver color Honda, then fleeing the parking lot.

Dover Police Beat: Two suspects arrested for burglary and assault of handicapped woman

DOVER, DEL. (Sept. 21, 2014) — Dover Police Lt. David Spicer reports that on Thursday September 18, 2014 at 0310 AM two suspects kicked open the door leading into the victim’s apartment causing damage. Suspects allegedly made entry into the apartment and assaulted the 61-year-old disabled female and her daughter before fleeing the residence.
