Cops round up Grandma Regina’s pack of gun thugs for robbery of office staff

On August 14 at approximately 10:05 a.m., the Emergency Communications Center (9-1-1) received a call for an armed robbery in progress at Sweeney Building Services located at 18931 Premier Court in Gaithersburg. Two suspects entered the business armed with a handgun and a taser. They obtained an undisclosed amount of cash. The victims were able to give descriptions of both suspects and the vehicle used to leave the scene. Using this information, detectives began their investigation.

Detectives and agents from the FBI continued the investigation, after the arrest of Lee and Troy, and were able to determine additional suspects were involved in the planning stages of the robbery and provided material support to the suspects before and after the robbery.

On October 2, 2014 a St. Mary’s County Grand Jury returned indictments on Michael M. Burgess, age 52 of Alexandria Va. and Abdelrahim T. Ayyad, age 49 of White Plains, Md. charging both with Conspiracy to Commit Armed Robbery.
