Watchstanders in the Sector North Carolina Command Center in Wilmington received notification that the 72-foot fishing vessel Capt. Jimmy was taking on water in Pamlico Sound near Bluff Shoal Light at about 3:30 a.m.

Coast Guard and British Royal Navy rescues survivors from overturned hull of vessel wrecked by Hurricane Maria near Puerto Rico

A Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater HC-130 Hercules search plane located the vessel overturned with three mariners on top at approximately 11:30 a.m.  A Royal Fleet Auxiliary Mounts Bay rescue helicopter was vectored to the vessel and hoisted one adult female and two children.
