Delaware State Police Beat / Tipsy Irving Cannon took his last walk on the dark side into path of car on Coastal Highway

Police say that the pedestrian did just about everything possible to bring an early departure from this earth. The man, 54-year-old Irving T. Cannon III, of Rehoboth Beach, was wearing all dark clothing none of which was reflective and was not carrying a light or crossing in a crosswalk.  Alcohol is being considered as a factor on his behalf.

Coast Guard and British Royal Navy rescues survivors from overturned hull of vessel wrecked by Hurricane Maria near Puerto Rico

A Coast Guard Air Station Clearwater HC-130 Hercules search plane located the vessel overturned with three mariners on top at approximately 11:30 a.m.  A Royal Fleet Auxiliary Mounts Bay rescue helicopter was vectored to the vessel and hoisted one adult female and two children.

In some fairness to the military owners – they did improve the Old Girl while She was under their command. They installed a sprinkler system, put storm windows on each window, erected a helicopter pad behind the swimming pool (something every little hotel needs,) and saw to it that it was kept in as good of shape as possible.
