At 7:13 PM, a male victim drove into the Sheetz gas station parking lot, located on the corner of Great Mills Road and Point Lookout Road, after he saw the police and ambulance (treating the earlier victim). The victim, identified as Maxwell Jason Heyliger, 35, of Lexington Park, was exiting the parking lot of the Sign of the Whale liquor store, located on 21899 Three Notch Road in Lexington Park, when approximately 2 rounds struck his vehicle; one of which struck Heyliger in the hand.

Virginia State Police Trooper D. Miller’s investigation of the crash revealed that a 2003 Pierce pumper truck (Henrico Fire Unit) was sitting in the left and center lane with lights activated when it was struck by a southbound 2013 Honda Civic. Two Henrico firefighters that were still in the truck at the time of the crash were transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the Honda, Brad T. Cartwright, 31, of Fredericksburg, Va., died at the scene; he was not wearing a seatbelt.

ELKRIDGE, MD. – A woman’s whose body was found in a fire that destroyed a mobile home has been declared a murder victim by Howard County Police.

Police have confirmed the identity of a woman found dead inside her residence during a fire in the Capitol Mobile Park in Elkridge this morning. Stacey Lynn Fuller, 39, of the 6600 block of Washington Blvd.

She was pronounced dead by paramedics at the scene, say police. It appeared she had suffered a traumatic injury unrelated to the fire, possibly a gunshot wound.

Queen Anne County States Attorney Lance Richardson reported that on September 17, 2014 Kaitlin Ashley Omara of 439 Barnes Ave., Westminster, Maryland entered a plea of guilty to two counts of Negligent Homicide while under the influence of alcohol.

ALEXANDRIA, VA. – Fairfax County Police report that crash reconstruction detectives are investigating a crash that took place at around 11:45 p.m. on Tuesday, January 13.

A 40-year-old Alexandria area man was reportedly sitting in the center of Route 1 Northbound just prior to Southgate Drive outside of the crosswalk. The man was stuck by two vehicles. It does not appear that speed nor alcohol were factors in the crash on the part of the drivers and it is unknown why the victim was in the roadway.

Troopers have determined the Ayres family left Greenbush, Va, last night on a trip to Baltimore to visit family. The tractor trailer driver is said to have been headed to his residence in Delaware. The trailer was reportedly loaded with 44,000 pounds of polyfiber the driver had picked up yesterday afternoon in Charlotte, NC. The tractor trailer is owned by Nationwide Solutions, LLC, of St. John, Indiana.

On January 6th, the driver of the 2013 Chevrolet Silverado involved in the fatal crash which occurred in the area of Jefferson Davis Hwy and Chesapeake Dr. in Dumfries on December 2nd was charged in connection to the collision.
