DUMFRIES, VA. – Prince William County Police report they are looking to locate a wanted suspect in a knockdown that went several rounds as the Labor Day weekend began.

Police say that on August 31 at 10:45 PM, officers began to investigate a domestic assault which occurred earlier that evening at an apartment located in the 3100 block of Chesapeake Dr in Dumfries.  The investigation revealed that the victim, a 41-year-old woman of Dumfries, reported to police that she and the accused, an acquaintance, were involved in a verbal altercation which escalated. During the encounter, the accused grabbed the victim and dragged her down a hallway then placed his knee against her face causing a laceration. When the victim attempted to leave the apartment, the accused would not let her leave. The victim was eventually able to leave the apartment and respond to the Gar-Field Police Station. Minor injuries were reported. Following the investigation, officers obtained warrants for the arrest of the accused, identified as Harold Joseph SIMMONS, Jr.  Attempted to locate the accused have been unsuccessful.

FOUR HOODLUMS sought in attempted burglary

DUMFRIES, VA.  – On September 1 at 2:45 AM, officers responded to a residence located in the 16900 block of Toms River La. in Dumfries, Va., to investigate a burglary in progress. A neighbor reported to police that four unknown males kicked open the front door of a home. Once the door was open, the suspects fled the area on foot without making entry into the home. A police K-9 was used to search for the suspects who were not located. The investigation continues.

Suspect Descriptions:

Four black males, between 18 & 25 years of age – No further description is available at this time

Burglars gave up before entering

WOODBRIDGE, VA. – On August 31 at 5:30 PM, officers responded to a residence located in the 5200 block of Quebec Pl in Woodbridge, Va., to investigate an attempted burglary. The homeowner reported that sometime between 8:00 AM and 5:50 PM, entry was attempted into the home through a basement window which had a damaged screen. No entry was made into the home and no property was reported missing.

WOODBRIDGE, VA. – On August 31 at 12:49 PM, officers responded to a residence in the 2700 block of Brier Pond Cir in Woodbridge, Va., to investigate a burglary. The homeowner reported to police that the burglary occurred sometime between 12:00 PM on August 30 and 12:30 PM on August 31. The investigation revealed that entry was made into the residence through an unsecured basement window. A firearm, computer laptop, jewelry, money, and other electronic equipment were reported missing.
