A Triangle man is facing charges after a multifaceted incident in Annandale. Officers were called to the 7400 block of Little River Turnpike shortly after 9 this morning for an initial report of a robbery. An investigation determined the suspect, identified as 35-year-old Kelly Christopher Robinson, had been involved in a traffic crash near the intersection of Ravensworth Road and Little River Turnpike.

The rampage continued as officers arrived on the scene when Robinson stole the security officer’s car and began ramming cars in the parking lot and crashing into a building

Robinson ran from the crash scene, along with his dog, toward the Little River Shopping Center where he tried to carjack a woman. The woman was able to get away and find help from a security officer. The security officer confronted Robinson, and an altercation ensued. Our investigation revealed Robinson pulled a knife and demanded the security officer’s keys and cut the security officer. The stolen vehicle eventually came to a stop just before Little River Turnpike.

An Electronic Control Weapon and pepper spray were used to subdue Robinson.
