Dustin Khoury shot dead during drug deal in Laurel, Md.

LAUREL, MD. — A teen who had lived at Sparrows Point and in Laurel was murdered during what police say was an illegal transaction was awaiting trial after being indicted on five violent crime counts.

Mirroring an execution style slaying in Montgomery Village in Montgomery County, Md., which has become popular with teenage killers, investigators will likely close this homicide investigation.

Detectives with the Prince Georges County, Maryland, Homicide Unit are conducting an investigation into a fatal shooting in Laurel July 18, 2017.

The victim is 17-year-old Dustin Steven Khoury of 245 Elkton St., Laurel, Md. Preliminarily, detectives do not believe this was a random shooting and that the murder took place during a drug deal. A witness was in Khoury’s car when he was shot.

On July 18th, at about 8:25 pm, patrol officers were called to Contee Road and Larchdale Road for a shooting. When they arrived, they found the victim in a car with a gunshot wound to his body. He died a short time later at a hospital.
