Stephen Michael Duckett, 55, of Laurel, Del. and Rachael M. Miller, 32, of Laurel, Del. Miller had stashed drugs in her body cavity.

SALISBURY, MD. — Heroin continues to be the drug of choice for many druggies in the mid-Atlantic region with the Eastern Shore area holding its own for the number of overdose deaths and politicians promising to “fight” the epidemic of dipsticks shooting up, smoking or ingesting heroin.

Wicomico Sheriff Mike Lewis reports that on July 5, 2017, members of the Wicomico County Sheriff’s Office Community Action Team (CAT) conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Northgate Drive in Salisbury, MD.

During the course of the traffic stop, Deputies developed probable cause to search the vehicle. A search of the vehicle revealed several bags of heroin and pieces of crack cocaine, along with related paraphernalia. Both the driver and passenger were arrested and charged with possession of CDS: heroin and crack cocaine.

Sheriff Lewis reports that once back at the Sheriff’s Office, it was determined that the female, Rachael Miller, 32, of Laurel, Del., had secreted additional bags of heroin in her body cavity, which were recovered by a female deputy. Both Miller and Stephen Michael Duckett, 55, of Laurel, Del., were released to the Wicomico County Detention Center and later released.

Charges: Possession of CDS: crack cocaine and heroin and Driving on a revoked and suspended out of state license (Rachael Miller).
