DWI HIT PARADE / Simon Pedro Urbino-Vasquez charged with DUI manslaughter after slaughtering his passenger in overnight booze cruise
The Alexandria Police Department is investigating a traffic crash that occurred on Saturday, July 8, 2017, in the 300 block of S. Henry Street.
At approximately 3:11 a.m., police responded to the area for a single vehicle crash. Initial investigation indicates Simon Pedro Urbino-Vasquez, a 27-year-old Fairfax County resident, was driving southbound on S. Henry Street when he lost control of his vehicle. The driver of the vehicle had minor injuries and refused medical treatment.
A 24-year-old Fairfax County resident was transported to the hospital with serious injuries, and a 24-year-old Silver Spring, MD resident died from injuries on scene.
Two passengers were also in the vehicle. A 24-year-old Fairfax County resident was transported to the hospital with serious injuries, and a 24-year-old Silver Spring, MD resident died from injuries on scene. The name of the deceased will not be released until next of kin have been notified.
The driver, Urbino-Vasquez, has been charged with Vehicular Manslaughter (DUI related) and is being held without bond.
