ANNAPOLIS, MD. — Those doggone criminals just won’t obey the law restricting guns or the laws making murder illegal.  They just keep on gunning down thugs and folks in the hood.  Annapolis Police reports that on July 28, 2016, just after 9:30 p.m. officers responded to the 900 block of Royal Street for several reports of shots fired and a vehicle striking a residential building.

Annapolis Police Officers located the crashed vehicle and an injured male victim inside. The victim was shot and died from his injuries. Detectives are actively investigating this homicide.

The deceased victim of the homicide has been identified as Charles Edward Carroll Jr.., 25, of Brooklyn, Md.

Carroll is the son of a Baltimore Pastor who recently organized an effort to get guns off the streets of Baltimore. In spite of his efforts, his own son was a gun-toting criminal dealing in drugs and died of gunshots.

On May 29, 2016, Carroll was ticketed for driving his 2007 Infiniti at 86 mph on Rt. 50 at Bell Road while heading east towards Ocean City. He faced a $290 fine for his alleged lead foot after being stopped by a Maryland State Trooper.

The big deal for Carroll was being charged with drug distribution for alleged drug dealing on March 23, 2015, in Anne Arundel County Circuit Court. In a deal with the Anne Arundel County States Attorney, a deal which will never see the light of day, all of his drug dealing charges were dropped against Carroll.

The Capital Gazette reported that Carroll and two others were arrested at Annapolis Harbor on Rt. 2 after complaints of drug dealing in the shopping center were phoned into police.
Traymont Larkins, 26, of Sloan Drive in Glen Burnie; Charles Carroll, 24, of Brooklyn; and Ricky Cornish, 25, of Baltimore, have each been charged with possession of heroin with intent to distribute and possession of heroin. Carroll and Cornish also were served with open warrants.

Police say that a total of 38 baggies containing 30.6 grams of heroin valued at $3,674, along with $2,987 cash, was found in the car,

It may be that Carroll rolled over on one of his drug dealer competitors or companions in order for his charges to be dropped and his murder was a typical whack job in retaliation in true gangland style.  Larkin’s charges from the drug dealing arrest with Carroll were dropped at the same time as those of Carroll on Oct. 2, 2015 but Larkin was afterwards indicted on other drug dealing charges still pending.

There likely is a long list of suspects.

In 2007, as Carroll built his record of thuggery, he was charged with thirteen counts of armed robbery and his bail was set at $2,000,000 on Dec. 27, 2007.

It was Carroll’s bad luck he was back on the streets where his fellow hoods who owed him for his unpleasant marketing strategies, gave him a lead sandwich.

These robbery charges went to Anne Arundel County Circuit Court where the Anne Arundel States Attorney made a deal on Dec. 3, 2012, to accept a guilty plea from Carroll for Armed Robbery in return for a four-year sentence in prison. But since this is the Alice in Wonderland Court System of Maryland where everyone gets a get out of jail free card, the sentence was suspended and in spite of being a successful drug dealer and armed thug, the court records report that probation was closed unsatisfactorily on May 16, 2014, and ordered to jail by Anne Arundel County Circuit Court Judge Mulford on that date. He was given credit for 231 days already served in the slammer when he couldn’t make the big bail.

Now, he will likely be given the funeral of a saint instead of a thug.
