SILVER SPRING, MD. — The Maryland State Police report that on April 3rd at 2:46 am, Troopers from the Rockville Barrack responded to a reported single vehicle collision on the Outer Loop I-495 at Connecticut Ave.  Upon arrival, Troopers confirmed the driver was ejected and pronounced deceased.  There were no passengers in the vehicle.

Preliminary investigation revealed a silver Scion TC passenger car, driven by Jose Leonel Bonilla-Torres, was attempting to exit from the outer loop of I-495 at Connecticut Ave.

The vehicle traveled off the ramp and struck a bridge abutment, sending it airborne to the roadway below.  The vehicle landed on Kensington Parkway, where the driver was ejected, causing fatal injuries.  Alcohol is believed to be a factor to the collision.

A Maryland State Police Collision Investigator responded to the scene.  There were no extended road closures and the incident remains under investigation.
