The Queen Anne’s County Drug Task Force began the intense investigation in January 2016, after investigators developed information indicating several distinct drug trafficking organizations were operating in Queen Anne’s County. Police learned these operations were responsible for importing large amounts of heroin, crack and powder cocaine, marijuana and Oxycodone into the region for over a decade.

The Queen Anne’s County Drug Task Force is comprised of members of the Maryland State Police, the Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s Office, the Queen Anne’s County Office of the State’s Attorney, the Centreville Police Department, the Maryland Natural Resources Police, and members of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI). Task force investigators believes some of the individuals arrested, operated businesses in the area to provide a cover for the illegal activities.

Police officers involved in the arrests include:

Maryland State Police: Centreville Barrack, State Apprehension Team, Criminal Enforcement Division, and Special Operations Division K-9 Unit

Queen Anne’s County Sheriff’s Office

Similar cooperative enforcement efforts are expected in the future as law enforcement cooperation in Queen Anne’s County continues as police officers work together to keep the county safe. This investigation is continuing with further arrests pending.
